Nemko is an accredited test laboratory according to the standard EN ISO/IEC 17025 and a certification body according to EN 45011. Nemko is also a Notified Certification Body according to the ATEX Directive. Nemko is an approved test laboratory and certification body within the IECEx Scheme.

Nemko is able to perform Quality Assurance Notification (QAN) according to the ATEX Directive and Quality Assurance Report (QAR) according to IECEx requirements.

Nemko offers a wide range of testing for hazardous locations, including the following:

IP (Ingress Protection) Testing

Nemko offers IP testing according to the IEC 60529 standard. This testing will assess the protection of equipment against ingress of solid bodies and/ or liquids. This will be for varying degrees of protection depending upon the requirements placed on the product.

Flame Proof Testing

Nemko offers Flame Proof Testing according to IEC 60079-1 standard. This will test the ability of the product to contain an explosion and quench the flame. Flame proof testing can be required for many types of equipment and is designed to measure the ability of the external enclosure to withstand an internal explosion.

Intrinsic Safety Testing

Nemko offers Intrinsic Safety Testing according to IEC 60079-11 standard. This testing will limit the energy of sparks and surface temperatures for products used in a hazardous location.

Type ‘n’ (energy limitation)

Nemko offers Type ‘n’ (energy limitation) testing according to the IEC 60079-15 standard. This testing will limit the energy of sparks and surface temperatures for products used in hazardous locations.
